Today is kind of a big deal, you guys!!! It’s February 11th, 2013 which means that it officially marks TEN YEARS since this site has launched. Grey and I would like to take this time to say a few words.
Shirphie
“I know I repeat myself every year with basically the same thoughts and musings, but really, I cannot even put into words how much everyone’s constant support and love mean to me. I may have started the site by myself but it would be nothing without all of your help and kind words throughout the years. The first couple of years was such a learning experience and I met so many wonderful people through the Everwood community. A lot of you I still talk to today! It’s amazing how things can bring people closer together and in this case, it was a certain Canadian. I knew Emily was special the second I saw her on my television screen. There is something about her that is so real and genuine and sweet and I was really drawn to that. It was an honor to run the site solo for the first 5 years. I was really lucky in finding Grey, who has run most of the site since 2008 (with me still helping out from time-to-time, especially behind-the-scenes). Now that Emily will be joining Captain America 2 the next year will be busier than ever but both of us are down for the task. We hope you continue to visit us for your source on all things Emily! Thanks, as always, to Emily VanCamp for being our constant inspiration. Yay 10 Years!!!”

“I joined the staff of Emily VanCamp Online way back in 2008 after exchanging several messages with Shirphie on an old Brothers & Sisters message board. I had been a fan of Emily for many years before then and visited the site regularly. At the time I joined the site, I had basically no experience with running websites, so I was understandably nervous, but Shirphie was so nice and welcoming and really helped me get my footing. At first I was just going to occasionally contribute pictures, but over time my role on the site grew larger as did my knowledge of running websites and all that comes along with that. It really has been a great learning experience for me. I quickly grew to love updating the site about all things Emily while I watched her progress from a moderately known actress to the huge star she is today. Though I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Emily, I’ve been proud to call myself a fan of hers for so many years, going all the way back to her time on Everwood. Though at times it’s been time consuming or sometimes frustrating, being a part of this site has been so much fun for the past five years and I don’t regret joining for a moment. I want to thank everyone who has visited the site over the years and those who have contributed anything, even if they just left kind comments or constant feedback (like Matt). And a last thank you to Ms. Emily VanCamp, for remaining true to herself as she has navigated through Hollywood these many years with so much grace. She makes it so easy to be a fan. Here’s to ten years and more to come!”
Both of us wanted to launch a layout today in celebration of this glorious milestone, but real life got in the way. You know how it is. Still, look forward to a brand new look here at Emily VanCamp Online by the end of the week! For now, check out the new layout over on our Twitter page which I just uploaded not too long ago. I will be changing our Tumblr layout sometime this week, as well.

CONGRATS GUYS!!! I remember meeting you Shirphie through this Emily site! Back then I had my own and had the Ephramy forum (OMG that makes me sound so old lol) and like you said, Emily brought us together. hehe. Emily is amazing and this fansite does her so much justice as it is elegant and professional and above all it’s a graceful dedication to her. Congrats to you both and thanks for the hard work you guys do. 🙂
Congratulations from me as well! You two, Grey and Shirphie, did a great job keeping this website alive over so many years, and now it’s a decade, that’s simply amazing. You were there from almost the very beginning when Emily started Everwood, I became a fan when Everwood ended (though at that time I started watching it). I am a huge Emily fan and glady admit that it would be tough searching the web daily for all the news and pictures, because it’s hard to keep track with everything Emily did, she has been so busy since Revenge started, interviews to watch (I can say I watched them all) and tons of pictures as well. So your website is a perfect source not only for the stuff you could find on the internet somewhere else but for videos from Emily first tv appearances. All the best to you, I think we will have a lot more fun with Emily and her career this year and the next ones. 🙂

Congratulations, you guys! 10 years, what a remarkable accomplishment. All the work you’ve put into your site is something else. Emily wowed me back in the day when she played the one and only, Amy Abbott, and I’ve never looked back. Her talent is endless. Congrats on 10 years! It is so great to see such a great site devoted to Emily still going strong after all these years. I remember first coming here back when it first launched during Everwood and it`s great to see it`s now stronger than ever with Emily now starring on Revenge and about to take the movies by storm in Captain America 2. I hope that this site will be going strong for many more years to come.
Congratulations on 10 years you guys! Wow! I am so incredibly happy for the success of this site. I want to say thank you Shirphie and Grey for your continuous dedication to the site and to Emily. You guys are incredible, seriously. I am so happy to have started talking to you Shirphie 10 years ago, sharing our love for Everwood, and Emily through our fan sites (Mine of which didn’t last even half as long as this one lol). I also want to say thank you for having allowed me to co-web the site with you, even only just briefly it was an honor. I had a great time sharing whatever I could of Emily for the site and it’s fans. (I will continue to share anything of Em that I ever come across here in Canada as well) I also have to say that I am truly just so proud of how far Emily has come along, she is an amazing actress and just an all out amazing person. Thank you Emily Vancamp for being you, and I wish you all the luck and success in the world, and thank you guys again for all your hard work on the site!! It’s truly paid off! 10 YEARS!! <3
