Awesome news today, guys! Emily has landed the lead role in a new potential TV series at ABC. Here’s the article from TVLine.com:

Pilot Scoop: VanCamp Plots Revenge at ABC
By: Nellie Andreeva

Brothers & Sisters and Everwood alum Emily VanCamp is returning to ABC as the star of a potential new primetime drama, Revenge.

VanCamp has landed the lead in the project, written by Swingtown creator Mike Kelley and directed by Phillip Noyce. It’s described as a contemporary re-imagening of The Count of Monte Cristo from a female perspective and centers on Emily Thorn (VanCamp), a mysterious young woman who comes to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her family.

Keep in mind that this is just a pilot, meaning that ABC still has to decide whether or not to pick up the series after it’s filmed. Even so, I think it’s awesome that she landed the lead role. Hopefully ABC will pick it up and Em will be back on our TV screens this fall!

Update: I found another description of the show. Check it out below.

Revenge (Mike Kelley) – Emily Thorne has a secret. She’s new to the Hamptons and rented a beautiful house on the water for the summer. She’s welcomed into the spectacular community by her neighbors, but little do the townsfolk know that every kind gesture is an invitation to their own downfall.

Good news of course, I’d like to have my weekly dose of Emily again, but the plot sounds not really great (meaning the have to come up with something more, because it may be a nice plot for a mini-series or a movie, but a whole season?), and in combination with ABC, a cable station would’ve been better. But that should not stop Emily, I think she liked the plot, I don’t think she just took the role to go back to ABC. 😉 And as you write: The pilot is made now, in May, the ABC-chiefs decide if they want to make it a series, and then we can see Emily in half a year in October in a new show, so it’s a long time until then. 😉 But I’m glad that she wants to play a completely different role, I’m really looking forward to see her playing the Evil Emily, I think it can be a way to show how talented she really is (let’s be honest: I don’t even think B&S watchers really noticed her, she was always in the shadow of the well-known actors).

I’m so happy she landed the lead role, and really hope it gets pick up. Emily is an excellent actress, and real deserves a role to shine in!

Thanks for the news!:) I have to admit, I haven’t watched much of Brothers and Sisters since she left. Actually, it was the only reason I started to watch in the first place. Lets hope it does get picked up, because I’m also missing my weekly dose of Emily.
